The coverage C of area targets by salvos of weapons generally varies randomly, because of random target location and weapon impact point fluctuations. A third source of variation appears when, instead of an area target, a multiple-element target is considered, consisting of m point targets distributed randomly and independently of one another around the target center. A multiple-integral expression is derived for the probability pk of killing exactly k target elements. It is shown that pk is a linear function of the higher moments, of the order k to m, of the area coverage C. More explicit expressions are derived for the case of two weapons and for circular-symmetric functions. Similar to well-known results for the expectation and variance of coverage of area targets, these expressions can be evaluated by numerical quadrature. Furthermore, the coverage problem in which all underlying functions are Gaussian can be completely solved in closed form. For such a problem, with two weapons, numerical results are presented. They show that the distribution of k can be approximated by a binomial distribution only if the target center and weapon impact point fluctuations are small. 相似文献

Typically weapon systems have an inherent systematic error and a random error for each round, centered around its mean point of impact. The systematic error is common to all aimings. Assume such a system for which there is a preassigned amount of ammunition of n rounds to engage a given target simultaneously, and which is capable of administering their fire with individual aiming points (allowing “offsets”). The objective is to determine the best aiming points for the system so as to maximize the probability of hitting the target by at least one of the n rounds. In this paper we focus on the special case where the target is linear (one‐dimensional) and there are no random errors. We prove that as long as the aiming error is symmetrically distributed and possesses one mode at zero, the optimal aiming is independent of the particular error distribution, and we specify the optimal aiming points. Possible extensions are further discussed, as well as civilian applications in manufacturing, radio‐electronics, and detection. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Of course, only in special cases is an exact solution of this problem obtainable. This paper treats targets T which are symmetric about the origin o and demonstrates conditions on the extent of T and the impact density f, a density with respect to Lebesgue measure, sufficient for va(T) to be monotone in the distance from a to o and maximized at a = o. 某型火箭炮是新型的主战装备,对其战术技术性能的研究具有重要意义。采用仿真的方法对该型武器系统对目标的毁伤过程进行研究,可以大大节约实弹射击所需经费,并且可以动态地观察毁伤过程的细节。根据某型火箭炮弹抛撒子弹模型及子弹毁伤目标性能指标,采用理论分析和计算机模拟手段,对该型火箭炮弹对面积目标的毁伤过程进行了仿真,并得出了毁伤效率随子弹枚数和CEP的变化规律。研究成果对该型武器系统的作战运用具有借鉴意义。 相似文献

There are multiple damage functions in the literature to estimate the probability that a single weapon detonation destroys a point target. This paper addresses differences in the tails of four of the more popular damage functions. These four cover the asymptotic tail behaviors of all monotonically decreasing damage functions with well‐behaved hazard functions. The differences in estimates of probability of kill are quite dramatic for large aim‐point offsets. This is particularly important when balancing the number of threats that can be engaged with the chances of fratricide and collateral damage. In general, analysts substituting one damage function for another may badly estimate kill probabilities in offset‐aiming, which could result in poor doctrine. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this paper, we consider a new weapon‐target allocation problem with the objective of minimizing the overall firing cost. The problem is formulated as a nonlinear integer programming model, but it can be transformed into a linear integer programming model. We present a branch‐and‐price algorithm for the problem employing the disaggregated formulation, which has exponentially many columns denoting the feasible allocations of weapon systems to each target. A greedy‐style heuristic is used to get some initial columns to start the column generation. A branching strategy compatible with the pricing problem is also proposed.
