| 摘 要： | 1874年日本侵台深深刺激了清政府,在海防大讨论中清廷大员认识到向西方购买铁甲舰的紧迫性.由于赫德的干扰和以李鸿章为首的清廷大员对购买铁甲舰认识的局限,加之清廷财政困窘,致使晚清政府向西方购买铁甲舰的进程跌宕起伏,其中的历史教训值得深思.
