| Abstract: | A generalized-indices transportation problem is formulated and an algorithm is presented for its solution. The algorithm is an extension of the modi-method. A theorem on the number of independent variables in the generalized-indices transportation problem is proved. An example problem is solved for the four-indices transportation problem. A computer program has been written to solve any four-indices problem. |
