Large Calibre Naval Guns Will Play an Important Role in Sea Warfare Again

Littoral warfare and asymmetrical threats call for the capability to engage a wide variety of targets at short-medium ranges, in conditions where often the performance of anti-ship missiles would be severely hampered. Again, compared to most missile systems, the large calibre guns are significantly cheaper and of more immediate use. At present, several strong military countries are developing new large calibre naval guns actively. The large calibre naval guns will be on the stage of naval warfare again. So this paper introduces America, Germany, Britain, Italy, Russia and France in order to show the importance of large calibre naval guns in modern sea war.
