《印度之行》的后殖民解读

福斯特的小说《印度之行》，讲述了20世纪20年代英国殖民者与印度当地人民之间的冲突。以特顿、朗尼为主流的英国殖民者残酷统治印度，文化官员菲尔丁寻求与印度人的真诚友谊，英国来客莫尔夫人、阿德拉想了解真实的印度，但他们都以失败告终。英国人欧洲中心主义、白人集体意识以及殖民政权毫不掩饰的种族歧视和带有感情色彩的暴力统治，唤醒了印度人民，割裂了这本来就脆弱的联结。赋予东西方平等的话语权，实现文化的多元化，加强文化交流。是东西方交往健康发展的根本途径。

A Reading of A Passage to India with the Perspective of Postcolonialism

A Passage to India, written by the British novelist E. M. Forster, focuses on the conflicts between me English colonists and the Indian people in the colonial India. This paper, from the perspective of Postcolonialism, analyzes why the contrasting calls from the English colonists are not responded by the Indian people. Their failure to elicit a response from the Indian people is due to their Eurocentrism, their collectiveness as whites, and above all, their unconcealed racial discrimination and cruel ruling. And the Indians are regarded as ＂the Other＂, and marginalized. In addition, this paper attempts to point out that the equal discourse rights of the East and West, and the acceptance of cultural diversity between different peoples are needed to promote mutual understanding, enhance cultural communications and avoid cultural conflicts.
