The National Missile Defense System of America

The U.S.Congress Senate and the House of Representatives have passed the law of National Missile Defense (NMD)in March,1999.The law stipulates once the system is successfully developed,U.S.A. should dispose it immediately,which has caught wide ranging attention from the world and public opinion.This paper introduces the evolution of the U.S.Ballistic Missile Defense(BMD)plans and NMD's composition,performance and basic configuration and the interception test situation of NMD system.
