| Abstract: | In this paper, the orthogonality for the wetted modes of the underwater elliptical sectioned column is discussed at first. Then based on wetted mode expansion, the response of the column under earthquake excitation is discussed. Since the decoupling of the generalized coordinates is realized, a simple solution of the problem is yielded. |
