| Abstract: | Teaching English idiom and the culture connotation it contains are quite important for developing students＇ ability of cross-cultural communication. This article will mainly discuss the necessity of idiom teaching in secondary school from the following four respects： the definition and feature of the idiom, the culture origin of the idiom, the function of the idiom in cross-cultural communication, and the present situation of idiom teaching in secondary school. |
