On the design of a tandem queue with blocking: Modeling,analysis, and gradient estimation

We demonstrate here how recent advances in the study of discrete-event stochastic systems provide fruitful results for the modeling, analysis, and design of manufacturing systems. We consider a multistage make-to-stock system where outputs from the final stage are used to satisfy customer demands. We address the problem of finding the appropriate trade-off between reduced order waiting time and increased process speeds. Using the idea of infinitesimal perturbation analysis (IPA), we establish a simple procedure where sample-path derivatives can be obtained along an arbitrary sample path. Under suitable conditions, we demonstrate that these derivative estimators are unbiased and strongly consistent and can be used in a classical stochastic optimization scheme to solve the problem. The role of continuity and convexity on the validity of the estimator is also addressed. Although the focus of this article is not to solve for the optimal solution, we provide a theoretical justification for such a pursuit. The approach is appealing as it is numerically stable, easy to implement, and can be extended to other system performance measures. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

发生在建安十三年(公元208年)的赤壁之战以其深远独特的影响、丰富多样的作战形式在三国乃至整个中国军事史上占据着不可替代的地位。它是一场典型的以弱胜强、以少胜多的战争,是一场囊括了野战、攻城、追击、遭遇、火攻、退却、水战等多种作战形式的战争,是中国历史上第一次在长江流域进行的大规模江河作战,同时又是中国历史上第一次企图通过江河作战而谋求实现统一而最终失败的战争。无论从大战略的高度来看,还是从军事战略的角度来分析,赤壁之战都是一场具有多种典型价值的战争。今天,我们分析战争敌对双方曹军与孙刘联军战争指导的优劣得失,仍能获得历史的经验与有益的启示。     

潮流与风对单点系泊系统运动稳定性的影响研究

应用时域仿真的方法研究了风与潮流作用下单点系泊系统的非线性动力学特性。以三阶操纵运动方程为基础,引入定常的风力、潮流作用力和二阶波浪力,建立了系泊系统三自由度运动微分方程,据此建立了系泊系统的多自由度计算机仿真模型。风与潮流联合作用的情形下,对一艘单点系泊油轮的动力学行为进行了数值仿真研究。以潮流速度和系缆长度为分岔控制参数,在参数平面上给出了油轮系泊运动的Hopf分岔集,它将参数平面分为两个系统动力学行为本质不同的区域。研究表明,与潮流(顶流)单独作用的情形相比,顶风条件增加了油轮静止系泊位置的Liapunov稳定性。

拦截弹单纯依靠弹载红外传感器进行目标识别难度很大,将地基雷达的目标识别结果上传给拦截弹必将提高拦截性能并减轻红外识别负担,有利于降低弹载传感器的配置要求.提出了信息移交的概念,分析了国内外的研究现状,指出了需要解决的问题,然后建立了单目标、多目标和目标群信息移交模型,最后指出了需要进一步研究的问题.

Numerical and experimental study on the response characteristics of warhead in the fast cook-off process

The response characteristics of the warhead under thermal stimuli conditions are important to the safety improvement. The goal of this study is to obtain data on the warhead in the fast cook-off process. In this paper, a numerical calculation method is proposed, whose reliability is supported by comparison with experimental results. Through the numerical calculation, the temperature distribution, temperature change, and ignition time are acquired. The numerical results show that the ignition time is 76 s after the warhead started to burn and that the maximum temperature of the explosive's outer surface is 238.3 C at the ignition time. The fast cook-off experiment of the warhead is implemented so as to get the flame temperature and reaction grades that are not available through numerical calculation. The experimental results show that the overpressure fails to reach the preset minimum value which is equivalent to 6 kg of TNT and that the reaction grade is deflagration. The research results have reference value for the design of the warhead and the reduction of detonation risks.
