战场数据融合仿真系统设计与实现

介绍了一种战场数据融合仿真系统的设计与实现方法。该系统由场景设定、信号产生、融合跟踪处理、目标识别、态势与威胁估计与数据库支持等功能子系统组成,模拟了数据融合的整个信息处理流程,包括:主动探测雷达、雷达侦察设备、通信侦察设备和敌我识别器获取敌我目标观测信息、利用多传感器跟踪数据对目标进行融合跟踪、提取辐射源电磁信息特征对敌方目标识别,进而形成态势与威胁估计。最终在Visual C#开发平台上利用MapX和ORACLE开发了战场数据融合仿真系统,并成功应用于实际系统中,取得了较好的效果。

能够对不同的融合技术的性能进行客观、系统、全面地评价,成为目前空间信息处理以及遥感图像融合研究领域中亟待解决的问题。对国内外遥感图像融合系统及技术的发展历程进行了介绍,重点分析了遥感图像融合效果评估技术的研究现状,归纳了现有的效果评估方法。通过实验,进一步讨论了当前遥感图像融合效果评估技术所存在的主要问题,有助于明确该领域的发展方向和研究侧重点,为遥感图像融合系统及空间信息处理的研究奠定基础。

基于熵的地磁匹配定位算法

地磁匹配定位是近年来发展起来的新技术,针对地磁匹配定位中的匹配算法问题,引入了熵的概念,定义了地磁信息熵和地磁差异熵,提出了地磁信息熵和地磁差异熵综合的匹配算法,详细分析了其基本原理和实现过程。仿真实验表明,地磁熵算法的匹配误差并不随实时数据测量误差的增加而增加,该算法计算速度快、具有良好的抗测量误差干扰的能力,符合匹配精度和速度的要求。

Killing Your Own: Confronting Desertion and Cowardice in the British Army During the Two World Wars

Military units can become to some extent self-governing in war-time battle. At times, they may take the discipline of their soldiers into their own hands and such discipline may be severe. This paper examines incidents in the British military, in both World Wars, where British soldiers were killed by their comrades because they would not fight in the heat of battle. The judicial execution by the military authorities of deserters in the First World War led to much controversy in Britain. It may be much less well-known that in both World Wars there was, on occasion, an extra-judicial practice within the British military of executing soldiers who would not fight in the heat of battle. In such situations ethical dilemmas become very difficult indeed and some of the relevant issues are examined here.

Two‐stage component test plans for testing the reliability of a series system

A system reliability is often evaluated by individual tests of components that constitute the system. These component test plans have advantages over complete system based tests in terms of time and cost. In this paper, we consider the series system with n components, where the lifetime of the i‐th component follows exponential distribution with parameter λ_i. Assuming test costs for the components are different, we develop an efficient algorithm to design a two‐stage component test plan that satisfies the usual probability requirements on the system reliability and in addition minimizes the maximum expected cost. For the case of prior information in the form of upper bounds on λ_i's, we use the genetic algorithm to solve the associated optimization problems which are otherwise difficult to solve using mathematical programming techniques. The two‐stage component test plans are cost effective compared to single‐stage plans developed by Rajgopal and Mazumdar. We demonstrate through several numerical examples that our approach has the potential to reduce the overall testing costs significantly. © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
