Abstract:More stringent requirements are placed on military reconnaissance as the use of informatization in war continues to grow. A major task and critical requirement of military reconnaissance is to recognize fine-grained military targets and provide military commanders with detailed information. Traditional methods of recognition can recognize only coarse-grained targets and cannot obtain information on fine-grained targets. To solve this problem, this paper analyzes the status of development of fine-grained recognition technology in combination with the needs of the military and proposes its use for military reconnaissance. The process consists of three stages: dataset construction, model design, and terminal deployment. Prospects for the application of fine-grained target identification to the military is analyzed from the three perspectives of UAV reconnaissance, remote sensing reconnaissance, and individual reconnaissance. The results of the analysis show the promise offered by the use of fine-grained recognition technology in the military domain.
