Offensive and Defensive Weapons abroad in Modern Naval Warfare and Its Implications

The struggle between anti-ship missiles （spears） shipboard anti-missile weapons （shield） is an important characteristic of modem naval warfare. The United States and Russia presume each other as rivals when developing the offensive and defensive weapons, and study how to make penetration with their own weapons and meanwhile intercept the other＇s weapons. Due to historical conditions, political needs and their technical advantages are different, which leads to different guiding principles, design criteria and also offensive and defensive strategiesin developing the weapons.
