Close to the ＂Golden Crescent＂ region which is the largest narcotics source area in the world, Xinjiang is influenced by both the ＂Golden Triangle＂ region and the ＂Golden Crescent＂ region. In recent years, drugrelated crimes have been becoming increasingly eye - catching, groups of drug abuse have been expanding continuously, and AIDS caused by drug abuse has been spreading rapidly, which affects Xinjiang＇ s social stability and economic development a lot. This article analyzes the causes of drug abuse in Xinjiang on the basis of the macro and micro social environment and the individual factors of drug addicts. It is hoped to provide some references for the decision making of the prohibition of drug abuse in Xinjiang.
